Overview

As Moravian University was looking to launch their School of Professional Studies, Research & Design was asked to help the University advertise the new school on their homepage, improve the site's wayfinding and program search.

The Moravian site is very undergraduate focused which is evident on their homepage. Our improvements to the homepage include highlighting the adult programs in a new program search, deprioritizing undergraduate content, and leading the user to learn more about Moravian's professional studies.

Programs Refresh

Not only did we add the professional programs to the UI, we added a grid view for users who digest information more visually and we took out the left rail to add more real estate for the programs. This also allows users to focus on the programs page. We also changed the title to "Programs" for more clarity compared to "Areas of Studies".

Search Updates

Another piece we updated was the homepage search. On the current site the search bar takes up a small portion of the UI. In our update we have the search UI take up the navigation so that users can focus on what they are searching for.

The search modal uses a third party app called Cludo so our UI changes were limited. We updated the UI to match the brand more as well as added a tab to search programs.

UX Work

Our team was also tasked with recreating Moravian's information architecture (IA). This process included doing an audit of the current IA, stakeholder interviews to uncover pain points, and developing our recommended IA . I recreated the initial structure and noted issues with it and formed my stakeholder questions from the audit.

We then conducted interviews with 8 stakeholders, transcribed our meetings through Dovetail, and from there we parsed out findings and created a presentation for our client. We built the recommended IA through Slickplan.
